Publisher’s Notes
The President nominates someone for a vacancy on the Court and the Senate votes to confirm the nominee, which requires a simple majority. In this way, both the Executive and Legislative Branches of the federal government have a voice in the composition of the Supreme Court.
Are there qualifications to be a Justice? Do you have to be a lawyer or attend law school to be a Supreme Court Justice?
The Constitution does not specify qualifications for Justices such as age, education, profession, or native-born citizenship. A Justice does not have to be a lawyer or a law school graduate, but all Justices have been trained in the law. Many of the 18th and 19th century Justices studied law under a mentor because there were few law schools in the country.
The last Justice to be appointed who did not attend any law school was James F. Byrnes (1941-1942). He did not graduate from high school and taught himself law, passing the bar at the age of 23.
Robert H. Jackson (1941-1954). While Jackson did not attend an undergraduate college, he did study law at Albany Law School in New York. At the time of his graduation, Jackson was only twenty years old and one of the requirements for a law degree was that students must be twenty-one years old. Thus rather than a law degree, Jackson was awarded with a “diploma of graduation.” Twenty-nine years later, Albany Law School belatedly presented Jackson with a law degree noting his original graduating class of 1912.
How is the Chief Justice selected? Does the most senior Associate Justice become Chief Justice?
Like the Associate Justices, the Chief Justice is appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. There is no requirement that the Chief Justice serve as an Associate Justice, but 5 of the 17 Chief Justices have served on the Court as Associate Justices prior to becoming Chief Justice.
Three were members of the Court when they were elevated to Chief Justice:
Edward Douglas White (Associate Justice 1894-1910, Chief Justice 1910-1921)
Harlan Fiske Stone (Associate Justice 1925-1941, Chief Justice 1941-1946)
William H. Rehnquist (Associate Justice 1972-1986, Chief Justice 1986-2005)
Two had a break in service between their periods of service:
John Rutledge (Associate Justice 1789-1791, Chief Justice 1795)
Charles Evans Hughes (Associate Justice 1910-1916, Chief Justice 1930-1941)
How long is the term of a Supreme Court Justice?
The Constitution states that Justices “shall hold their Offices during good Behavior .”
This means that the Justices hold office as long as they choose and can only be removed from office by impeachment
Has a Justice ever been impeached?
The only Justice to be impeached was Associate Justice Samuel Chase in 1805.
The House of Representatives passed Articles of Impeachment against him; however, he was acquitted by the Senate.

A rioter is someone who takes part in a brawl or a violent disturbance. If you want a peaceful protest rally, don’t invite rioters.
Sometimes protesters are accused of being rioters: the difference between the two is that protesters are generally peaceful, and that even if they’re stirred to violent action, protesters have a social or political goal — or an event or policy to protest. Rioters only have the goal of causing a disruption. Sports fans sometimes turn into rioters after a big loss (or win). Rioter comes from the Old French, in which it means “chatter, dispute, or quarrel.”

I saw a sales pitch that said reach your first customer before they have their first cup of coffee. I don’t know about you but, I don’t do or read anything before my first cup of coffee. Wait a minute I might go do something I can’t mention. I’m trying to reach my reader with their first cup of coffee. They would have time to read and be relaxed.
I have a great circulation story my nephew is in the military, while in AfKanistan they got some packages from the United States “Show Box”. My newspaper was in it, “The Village Spectator”. I reach the troops overseas! Then the next day I go into the mens room at the Elks Club and there is my newspaper again in a book holder. HMMMMmmm How could I use that as a promotion?

Only one example is sufficient to support the above—the Michael Brown shooting. The media continues to dishonestly portray Michael as a victim who was surrendering to police with his hands upheld and saying, “Hands up, don’t shoot.” That did not happen! It is a falsehood are dishonest racists who are fomenting additional violence for which they will not be held accountable. They should find out who is financing this activity and freeze their assets and arrest them!

Rioting in the streets… I am sad to say the Left have taken advantage of the people of color again. If you want to have a peaceful protest you don’t invite Rioters! The people of color will have to get rid of the Rioters. Some of these rioters are being paid big money to create violence and get arrested with a promise to be gotten out of jail. The people who are dyeing are the people of color, their children and the police officers. I don’t think anyone that complies would be hurt. But when you resist it is a sure way for injury of both sides. Black lives matter need to talk to the leaders and ask them to stop the rioters. That’s where it is coming from, from the left and foreign countries. Trump and his legal team is starting to uncover all of the corruption of our very influential politicians. They need chaios to distract the working people and cause confusion in the people of color. When someone says People of color are not being treated fairly. I say a person of color was elected President of the United States. Many of our politicians are of color. The united States give everyone opportunity, you have to take advantage of the opportunities. While on a fishing trip in the gulf the other day. My new fishing partner and I were fishing, catching a few fish and releasing them back to where they came from. My fishing partner is a quiet guy and of course I start talking politics. Talking about all of the corruption and things that is going on. My fishing partner blurted out “I don’t like Trump!” I ask why? He told me about all the things he did not like about him. I said I agree with some of what you said, but who is the best equipped person to fix the country he said “Oh I’m voting for Trump because I don’t like the tactic’s that the Democrats are using.” I have changed parties because of what Obama and Bidden have done to us in the past.
So I have come to a new conclusion. First the Democratic’s have never excepted the results of our election and now they are asking Tump if he will except the results of this election? From what I can see, people see Trump as a bully, but when the entire Democratic party jumps on him then, “He becomes the underdog and he is good at fighting back.” I have not seen him do anything that is not good for the country and the people of this country. He is doing a job that no one else wants to do, ROOT OUT THE CORRUPTION IN OUR COUNTRY AND ROOT OUT CORRUPTION BETWEEN OUR POLITICIANS MAKING DEALS WITH OTHER COUNTRIES TO FILL THIER POCKETS!! Antonio West was the child who was shot and killed by two teens, who were attempting to rob his mother, his mother was also shot. Antonio’s murder and his mother wounding made the news for maybe a day, and then disappeared.
A Grand Jury from Brunswick, Georgia ruled the teens who murdered Antonio will not face the death penalty… it was Antonio who got the death penalty from his killers instead, because his mother didn’t have the money they demanded. They shot him in the face!

If you see an American Flag that has anything changed or added? it violate the flag code! No color changes, why would you want a black and white flag? Why would you want a American Flag with a thin blue line? Another Style that is hitting the internet right now is half U.S. and half military… Most of those are made in China. Any changes of or on the American Flag violate the flag code! The only thing you can do is make it bigger or smaller!!!

It is said there are many Universities in the United States that receive monetary gifts (money) from China. We are talking about more than a one hundred. Many of the Colleges are required to disclose the donation. This means a Communist Country has influence over the education of some of our finest…There are many colleges that teach a program by the Chinese government to teach American students about the Chinese Culture.
Any College with credentials must disclose gifts or money of more than $250,000 from a foreign power. About a third teaching the way of China culture (Confucius Institute) report it. Now we are beginning to see where some of this way of thinking that is coming out of the mouth of our college students.
Is this how you want your young to be educated? Socialism and eating animals from a live market that are unsanitary. I can’t get that vision out of my head, there was a video sent to me. There were dogs/ cats / bats/ creatures we would try to swat is on that market, for sale to eat, not healthy.
