OCALA, Fla. (Jan. 24, 2018) – The City of Ocala will host ‘BOBA: Beginning of Bolted Art,” a biennial sculpture reception, Thursday, Feb. 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Tuscawilla Art Park, 223 NE Fifth St.

Tickets holders will have the opportunity for docent tours of the ten new sculptures complete with culinary delights paired with adult specialty beverages and live entertainment featuring Ethio-American vocalist and composer, Meklit. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at www.ocalafl.org/culturalarts.

The 2018-2019 Ocala Outdoor Sculpture Competition received 117 entries from across North America and Canada. A selection jury comprised of local community and art organization representatives selected ten sculptures to advance in the competition and travel to Tuscawilla Park and the Tuscawilla Art Park for a 20-month exhibit. The exhibit will include works made of sandstone, concrete, aluminum, steel, and scrap metal. Unique to this year, the exhibition will include a solar-powered and kinetic sculpture, as well as two new installations in Lake Tuscawilla.
