t Program assists individuals with cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism or anyone who is at risk of wandering. The bracelet contains a unique radio frequency transmitter. If someone goes missing, deputies use special tracking equipment to locate them.
The Vial of Life is a free program designed to give emergency responders pertinent medical information. Fill out the form included in the vial and store it
in the refrigerator.
Participants place their completed form inside a labeled vial, which is then stored in the refrigerator. The Lockbox Program allows first responders to access your home in an emergency. A secure, coded lockbox is placed outside your home, containing a spare key that only authorized emergency personnel can access.
This program is available to Lake County residents who are age 55 or older, or disabled individuals who live alone and/or have significant medical conditions. The program is completely free for eligible Lake County residents.
A trained representative from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office will install the lockbox and demonstrate how it works. The secure code is kept confidential and accessible only to responding emergency personnel. The Emerg
ency Scent Kit is a proactive tool to assist in locating individuals who may wander or go missing — including seniors with cognitive disorders, young children, or vulnerable adults.
