The Lady Lake Police Department welcomed residents to its first National Night Out on Tuesday evening, bringing neighbors and officers together at three neighborhood locations throughout town. National Night Out is an annual nationwide campaign that promotes crime prevention awareness and strengthens partnerships between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
Residents at The Quarters Apartments, The Cove at Lady Lake, and the Skyline neighborhood enjoyed complimentary hamburgers and hot dogs while meeting officers, asking questions, and watching K-9 and drone demonstrations. The event offered a relaxed setting for community members to build relationships with local law enforcement and learn more about the department’s role in keeping Lady Lake safe.
“This year’s neighborhood block party format gave us the opportunity to focus on building relationships, learn what worked well, and create a strong foundation for the future,” said Police Chief Steve Hunt. “Based on the incredible response from our community, we’re excited to build on this success and make next year’s National Night Out even bigger and better.”
