LADY LAKE – What makes Lady Lake, Lady Lake?
The Town of Lady Lake is launching a community branding and identity project designed to answer that question and create a clear, recognizable identity that reflects the community’s character, history and future.
The project is being led by the Town’s Communications Department in partnership with Inspire Placemaking, a planning and design firm specializing in helping communities develop a sense of place. The goal is simple: build a brand identity that Lady Lake can be proud of.
A municipal brand is more than a logo or tagline. It is how people think and feel about their community. The brand identity can influence everything from the look of road signs and facilities to the Town’s website, social media, printed materials and other communications. A strong identity also helps residents quickly recognize official Town information, builds trust and community pride, and helps communicate what Lady Lake stands for.
This project begins by listening. Residents, business owners, Town employees, faith-based organizations, nonprofits and other stakeholders are encouraged to share what they believe makes Lady Lake special, what they value about the community and how they would like Lady Lake to be represented in the years ahead.
The Town will host a public outreach meeting and Commission workshop where participants can learn more about the project:
- Public Outreach:Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. – noon, Lady Lake Library
- Commission Workshop:Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 2:30 p.m., Lady Lake Town Hall
Those unable to attend the meeting can participate through an online survey. The survey is available online here.
Feedback gathered through the meetings and survey will help inform the development of Lady Lake’s identity. The Town’s current visual presence includes a variety of logos, colors, signage and other design elements across municipal facilities and programs, making the branding project an opportunity to create a more cohesive and recognizable identity.
Ultimately, the project comes down to one question the Town wants the community to help answer: What is Lady Lake to you?
