April has lived and worked in this community since 1987 and began her career in banking, as a part time teller at Barnett Bank in 1995. Over the last 23 years she has worked her way through the ranks of banking, holding many positions and learning about this wonderful community. The past 23 years prepared her for the job as Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County. The mission of the Boys & Girls Club is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

OCALA, Fla. (May 16, 2018) – The Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA), in partnership with the City of Ocala, is excited to unveil the full lineup for the 2018 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series. The series is sponsored in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a national funder of creative placemaking that empowers communities to inject new life into underused public spaces. Through free, outdoor concerts, the Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series will present ten free, family-friendly concerts to the public this summer.
The Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series will take place at Webb Field at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Complex located at 1510 NW Fourth St. Concerts will take place every Friday, June 15 through Aug. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. The public is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open lawn setting. OCALA, Fla. (May 16, 2018) – The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host a community meeting to discuss fundraising efforts and upcoming events for the Ocala Skate Park project Monday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the proposed location for the skate park, 517 NE Ninth St.
At this meeting, attendees will have an opportunity to walk the site and gain a better prospective of what the park will look like once it is completed. City staff will present updated information about the project, as well as involvement opportunities for local skateboarding and BMX enthusiasts. This meeting is free and open to the public.
