Ocala, Florida (October 12, 2021) – Kevin T. Sheilley, CEO and President of the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership received the “2021 Executive of the Year” award from the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP). In addition, the CEP was again awarded the Certified Plus Chamber status.

The Executive of the Year Award annually recognizes one Chamber leader for outstanding contributions to the profession and their chamber. It is one of the highest awards presented statewide in the industry.

“The recognition from FACP was a great surprise and an incredible honor,” said Sheilley. “To be recognized by my peers is humbling. While the award was presented to me, it really is a team award. The CEP team is second to none and makes not only me look good but our community.”

The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP) recognized Florida’s top chambers of commerce for their outstanding achievements and dedication to the industry. The awards were presented at the FACP Annual Conference, held September 22-24, 2021, at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter Harbourside in Jupiter, Florida.

“The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals congratulates the recipients of this prestigious distinction,” said Tammy C. Bracewell, President of FACP.  “We are proud of each Chamber’s dedication and commitment to excellence within the business community.  The Certified Chamber of Commerce program sets standards within the industry and recognizes chambers that have met those standards while offering guidelines for those to improve their effectiveness.  In many ways, it is like the good housekeeping seal of approval for a chamber of commerce.”

The Certified Chamber of Commerce program is designed to promote the public awareness of the intent of the Chamber of Commerce brand as a not-for-profit community development-based business membership organization.***

The Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership was created to be a one-stop hub for the community’s business attraction, creation and retention efforts. The CEP’s mission is to be THE catalyst for a prosperous community. The Moving Forward plan seeks to impact the creation of 4500 new jobs with wages 15% above the county average and resulting in a capital investment of $400 million by 2022.
