As I shared in last month’s column, I think our team at the CEP is second to none. They work incredibly hard to insure we are the catalyst for a prosperous community for everyone who calls the Ocala Metro home. A big part of having a great team is hiring incredible people.

Beth McCall Joins CEP Team

If there is such a thing as a homerun hire, Beth is the very definition. She joined the CEP team on 1 September as the new Director of Talent Development. In this role she will lead the CEP’s effort to engage businesses in our partnership with our education providers.

Beth is no stranger to Marion County Public Schools. She was elected in August 2016 as a member of the School Board. She served in that position until she moved out of District 2 and resigned the seat in June 2021.

She has been recognized for her leadership skills by receiving the 2020 American Values Honoree for the North Florida Council Boys Scouts of America, the 2018 Florida School Music Association State School Board Member of the Year Award, the 2019 Consortium of Florida Education Foundation’s State School Board Member of the Year Award, the 2019 Community Impact Award from The Centers, and the 2018 Interfaith Emergency Services Legacy of Love Award for her commitment and leadership to non-profits in Marion County. She has also been awarded the Junior League of Ocala’s “Three Who Care” Award, the Ocala Women’s Network “Women of Distinction Award” and the Metropolitan Ocala Rotary Club’s distinguished Memorial Honoree.

We are so excited to add Beth to the CEP team. Throughout her career in education, philanthropy, and business and as a Marion County School Board member, she has exemplified success through partnerships. We anticipate Beth continuing and accelerating the great success we have already had in our education initiatives.

FastTrac to Entrepreneurship

FastTrac® is the gold-standard of entrepreneurship training. The program has been around for more than 30 years and was developed and refined by the Kauffmann Foundation, the leading supporter of entrepreneurship in the world. The program occurs over 10-weeks, with each session lasting 3-hours. The program is provided on a license from the Kauffman Foundation and is led by certified trainers.

The CEP has four certified trainers and leads one of the most active FastTrac® programs in the nation. Our 6th cohort of trainees began the latest program in mid-September. We have offered cohorts this year at our downtown Ocala office, in West Ocala, Silver Springs Shores, Marion Oaks, and Dunnellon. Nearly 100 entrepreneurs will graduate from the program this year. All at no cost to the attendee.

Contact the CEP to learn more about FastTrac® and when the next cohort will begin.
