Dear Neighbor,

While Congress was in recess this week, it was a big week for spending time in the district. I had several productive meetings and visits in Gainesville and Ocala this week, and I look forward to sharing more information and photos from those visits soon. You can take a look at our meeting with Hawthorne Mayor Jacquelyn Randall below.

In Marion County, our Director of Veterans and Military Services, Mr. Dave Hill, had the honor of presenting an American flag that had been flown over the United States Capitol to Colonel Craig Hamm. Colonel Hamm is the president of the Marion County Veterans Council and was recently inducted into the Florida Veterans Hall of Fame for his service to our state and nation.

This week we also celebrated National Florida Day! Our state is nothing short of beautiful, from our natural springs and sprawling farms to our beautiful beaches and national parks. We hope you enjoyed some Florida sunshine to mark the occasion this week.

Meanwhile in Washington, the Biden administration has finally paid attention to our southern border, but this time taking action for all the wrong reasons. After the Supreme Court sided with the White House and ordered Texas to take down the razor wire along its border with Mexico, Texas doubled down. I agree with Texas Governor Abbott’s decision to defend Texas and will fight with my Republican colleagues in the House to do everything to support states’ rights to self-defense.

We’re back in Washington next week, so stay tuned for the latest on the border fight and efforts to impeach Secretary Mayorkas.

With all that’s happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we’ve been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Congresswoman Kat Cammack Proudly Representing Florida’s Third Congressional District
