TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Ashley Moody is warning Floridians about scams ahead of the 2022 tax-filing deadline. The deadline to file 2021 taxes is April 18. According to the Internal Revenue Service, millions of Americans wait until the last two weeks before the deadline to prepare tax returns. Last-minute filers are at a heightened risk of scammers fraudulently filing for a return in their name. Other less-common tax schemes also seek to exploit federal filing requirements. To avoid unnecessary hardships, Attorney General Moody is providing tips to help taxpayers spot and avoid tax scams.

Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “The federal tax-filing deadline is just a month away and millions of Americans have not prepared their taxes. While there is still time, filing early reduces the likelihood that a scammer will steal your tax return. For more information about how to avoid common tax-filing scams, check out the tips in our latest Consumer Alert.” Continue reading

White House slams Florida republicans. The controversy started when the GOP rejected legislation and the name it  “Don’t Say Gay!” The goal is to protect the children who need protection from legislation that would show them in a negative light. They would be subject to Bullying.

The new “F” word is FREEDOM to many of our leaders are infringing on FREEDOM. The word is not being considered as they make a move toward Martial Law.

Our own Republican Dennis Baxely sponsored the proposal. Baxely told law makers it would not forbid  spontaneous discussion but would bar districts from incorporating LGBTQ topics into the curriculum.

Baxely said some discussions are best left to parents! Baxely said when you enter sexual discussions with children your entering the “Danger Zone”!

DeSantis stated you’ve seen incidence in which kids are encouraged to be doing stuff with like gender ideology and I think the parents really do need to be involved in that discussion. LGBTQ

Dear Friends,

Thank you to all of you that have taken the time to call, write and e-mail our office over the past few weeks as we continue fighting to protect faith, family, freedom, opportunity and life itself at our state capitol.

We have reached the halfway mark of the 2022 Legislative Session and we are very excited about the good work being done on behalf of the people of the state of Florida. Will we get everything we want; just the way we want it? No. This process is a conversation that happens between 22 million people in our state who come from many different backgrounds and many different life experiences. Sometimes it can be messy, but a better system of government has yet to be found. Many have tried and many have failed. We should be very grateful that we live in constitutional republic where the rights of individuals are honored and protected. Continue reading

GAINESVILLE, FL —Congresswoman Kat Cammack (FL-03) and Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) led a bipartisan letter with members of the Florida delegation to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack in support of the state of Florida’s request for a USDA Disaster Declaration for the counties impacted by freezing temperatures January 29-31, 2022.

The letter describes how areas of Central and South Florida saw temperatures plunge to their lowest in more than a decade at the end of January, resulting in prolonged damage to crops across the state. Governor DeSantis issued a state of emergency in 30 counties across Florida, and a USDA Disaster Declaration would provide additional support under the Farm Service Agency to impacted farmers. The leading cause of death for Americans 18-45 is fentanyl. It’s not climate change. It’s not COVID. It’s fentanyl. Every single American is affected by this drug, pouring across our border and into our communities, courtesy of this administration’s policies. It’s happening here in FL-03 and it’s happening in communities across the U.S. We have got to stop this drug, stop the overdoses, stop the drug trafficking, and stop the deaths of our youngest generations.

Dear Neighbor,

It’s been a busy week in Washington, D.C. and this evening I’ll be back to Florida’s Third for a great weekend in the Sunshine State.

This week in Washington, D.C. we fought back against the America COMPETES Act, a bill offered by House Democrats to counter the Chinese Communist Party’s influence. Instead of countering China, however, this bill does nothing to fight back against the CCP, instead giving China billions of dollars and racking up our national debt with reckless spending unrelated to China at all. You can read more about that bill and everything else going on in Washington this week below.

With all that’s happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we’ve been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our  website, and on  Twitter Facebook Instagram , and  YouTube .

Letter questions the end to the use of previously approved treatments for Eli Lilly and Regeneron’s monoclonal antibody drugs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Kat Cammack sent a letter to Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Janet Woodcock regarding the announcement to abruptly end the use of the monoclonal antibody therapies (mAbs) on patients infected with COVID-19.

In the letter, Cammack questions the FDA’s updated Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for two previously approved monoclonal antibody treatments and discusses how the sudden decision affects Florida’s state-supported antibody treatment sites. Continue reading

MOORE HAVEN, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis awarded more than $1 million in funding to the City of Moore Haven through two Rural Infrastructure Fund grants to improve and enhance the downtown area and attract new development, creating new jobs and improving the local economy. The City of Moore Haven will use the funds to complete roadway and stormwater improvements that will mitigate recurrent flooding and prevent pollutants from entering the Caloosahatchee River Basin Estuary.

“Our rural communities are the backbone of our state, and I will continue fighting for these communities,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “This infrastructure funding will help the Moore Haven area support current residents, protect the environment and better prepare for future growth.”  Continue reading

MARIANNA, Fla.,— Governor Ron DeSantis announced over $91 million in funding to communities across the Panhandle region through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s (DEO) Rebuild Florida Mitigation General Infrastructure Program. Projects include improvements to wastewater and sanitary sewer, potable water, and stormwater systems.

I’ve said from the beginning that recovery from Hurricane Michael would be a long-term process,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “Michael has forever left a mark on Panhandle communities, but through the funding provided today, we can ensure these communities are stronger and better equipped for the future.” Continue reading

Reports of jury duty scams have surfaced in at least five Florida counties in the past year—two of those warnings coming in this month alone.

Scammers are calling targets claiming they missed a jury duty report date and must make immediate payment to avoid going to jail, even though failure to appear for jury duty is not grounds for immediate arrest.

Court officials will also never demand payment over the phone or ask that payment be wired or made through a gift card.

There are few civic duties as important to our judicial system as serving on a jury. As a former judge, I’m livid that anyone would exploit this honorable process to scare citizens into paying a ransom. Continue reading
