OCALA, Fla. (June 18, 2018) – NW First Avenue, from NW First Street to NW Second Street, will be closed Monday, June 18 through Thursday, Aug. 2. This closure is to accommodate work being done on the exterior side of the Marion County Courthouse.

All necessary devices will be in place to re-direct traffic. Detour will be as follows:

Northbound traffic will go east onto NW First Street, north onto NE First Avenue, west onto NW Second Street, back onto NW First Street.

Southbound traffic will go east onto NW Second Street, south onto N Magnolia Avenue, west onto W Silver Springs Boulevard, back onto NW/SW First Avenue.

The splash pad at Citizens’ Circle, 151 SE Osceola Ave., is now open to the public following a temporary closure for maintenance.

OCALA, Fla. (June 18, 2018) – The splash pad at Citizens’ Circle, 151 SE Osceola Ave., is now open to the public following a temporary closure for maintenance that began in late May. This splash pad, along with the splash pad at Lillian Bryant Park, 2200 NW 17th Pl., are free and open to the public daily from sunrise to sunset, unless otherwise noted.

Today, marks the first day of the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season and it is also a time when tourists love to visit Florida. Close to 21 million people call Florida home, and millions more visit the beauty Florida offers from the panhandle all the way to the Keys. OCALA, Fla. (May 31, 2018) – The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host the Future Stars Basketball program Mondays through Saturdays, June 4 through July 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the E.D. Croskey Recreation Center located at 1510 NW Fourth St. Games will take place Saturdays, June 9 through July 7 at 8 a.m. at the E.D. Croskey Recreation Center.

This program will teach participants the fundamentals of basketball, teamwork and sportsmanship. It includes four weeks of games, a one-week tournament and one championship game per age division. Continue reading

Peace in Palestine will never happen!

The (Free) Irish have been fighting for their freedom from British occupation for a thousand years.

They don’t seem to understand Golden Rule which says “The guy with the gold rules!” and “Might Makes Right!”

Israel prefers the status quo. Seventy years of peace plans, international summits, secret negotiations, UN resolutions and state-building programs, have and will continue to fail.
