IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT?
Apparently, a Washington intelligence officer reported that President Trump talked to the leader of Ukraine about the business dealings of Former Democrat Vice President, Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
Because of its conflicts with Russia, the Ukraine receives millions of American Tax-Dollars in aid.
Its interesting that VP Joe Biden is rumored to have stopped a corruption prosecution against a company that hired his son Hunter Biden.
By his own admission, VP Joe Biden made at least a dozen visits to Kyiv, Ukraine when he was in the White House.
Questions are being asked about his role in the dismissal of the country’s prosecutor general, Viktor Shokin back in 2016.
And his threat that he would withhold a $1 billion loan guarantee if Prosecutor Shokin was not removed.
Some investigators claimed that VP Biden improperly intervened to protect his son, Hunter Biden.
Hunter Biden is a lawyer who pursued “business opportunities” which ‘intersected’ with his father’s contacts.
It is reported that a company called Burisma Holdings has paid Hunter Biden about $850,000
to join its Board of Directors. Though whether he actually did any work for them is unclear.
Interestingly Hunter was not paid directly; One of his business partners, Devon Archer, who was also on the Board, set up a company in the USA to indirectly route the money stateside to Biden.
Apparently, the U.S, under VP Biden, asked Ukrainian prosecutors to assist the U.K. authorities with their investigation of corruption in the Ukraine, and warned of “negative consequences” if that didn’t happen involving about $23 million.
In a September 2015 speech, the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine faulted the prosecutors office for “subverting” a U.K. Corruption probe.
But VP Biden admitted that he told Ukrainian officials directly, “If this prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,”
Shortly thereafter Prosecutor Shokin was ousted, and the loan guarantee came through.
Even the International Monetary Fund was faulting The Ukraine for not investigating government corruption.
Since then VP Joe Biden has said that he’s never spoken with his son Hunter about his foreign business dealings.
But Hunter told the New Yorker that they did. “Dad said, ‘I hope you know what you are doing,’ and I said, ‘I do.’”
Apparently that was true because “all legal proceedings and pending criminal allegations” against that company were terminated.
Prosecutor Shokin said that he had been actively pursuing an investigation into the company (Burisma) and that he was fired because of it.
This is what President Trump believes still justifies an investigation.
The media misrepresents the reason that Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, is pressing Ukrainian officials for an explanation.
Fact is that, if VP Joe Biden improperly intervened in The Ukraine on behalf of his son Hunter, it would be a U.S. offense, not a Ukrainian one.
The new prosecutor general in The Ukraine has said that he is planning to provide information to U.S. law enforcement officials about payments made to Hunter Biden so that US authorities can verify that appropriate taxes were paid on that income.
But, so far, there has been no ‘Stateside’ investigation to find out if there was any wrongdoing related to those payments. And, if the Democrats have their way, there never will be. ’til next time. . . .
