The City of Ocala is accepting applications for the street banner lottery now through Wednesday, Aug. 1.
OCALA, Fla. (May 16, 2018) – The City of Ocala Public Works Traffic Division is accepting applications for the street banner lottery now through Wednesday, Aug. 1 for the 2019 calendar year. Reservations can only be made by non-profit organizations.
The City has two street banner locations that can be reserved for one week each. The first is located at the 1100 block of E Silver Springs Boulevard and the second is located at the 1300 block of W Silver Springs Boulevard.
Hard copies of the application can be obtained Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the City of Ocala Public Works Traffic Division office located at 1805 NE 30th Ave., building 300. OCALA, Fla. (May 15, 2018) – The City of Ocala will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Wetland Groundwater Recharge Park Tuesday, June 5 at 9 a.m. at the park site located at 2201 NW 21st St.
According to City staff, the Wetland Groundwater Recharge Park will receive three to five million gallons of treated wastewater a day, which, after further treatment and nutrient reduction by the wetland plants will recharge the Upper Floridan Aquifer. In addition to the nutrient reduction and aquifer recharge, the park will also include two and a half miles of walking trails, boardwalk, wildlife overlooks and educational kiosks. Continue reading
Both facilities will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
OCALA, Fla. (May 15, 2018) – The City of Ocala’s Aquatic Fun Centers will re-open to the public for the summer later this month.
The Jervey Gantt Aquatic Fun Center, 2390 SW 36th Ave., will be open to the public Saturday, May 19 through Monday, Sept. 3.
The Hampton Aquatic Fun Center, 255 NW Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., will be open to the public Saturday, May 26 through Monday, Sept. 3.
Both facilities will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Admission for a two-hour swim session is $2 for those ages 17 and under and $3 for those ages 18 and up. Admission is free for ages 1 and under. Pool passes are also available for purchase.
