The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has focused a great deal of attention on the Unimaginable waste and fraud committed by our nation’s runaway spending habit. Multiple Reports have shown case after case of our elected officials squandering our tax dollars in both The United States and around the world.So what does the FAIRtax have to do with government spending? In one word: Transparency.
The FAIRtax elegantly shines the light on, and exposes aspects of, our government that no Other tax system can do. Our current income tax system includes a vast number of exemptions, exclusions, deductions, Credits and loopholes that effectively result in less tax revenue in favor of some socially desired Behaviors. This is effectively government spending since it reduces treasury inflow.
Under the FAIRtax these phantom expenditures would vanish. The U.S. would collect the FAIRtax on the retail purchase of new goods and services. A portion of taxes collected would Be remitted back to every U.S. citizen and legal resident in the form of a prebate which is a REFUND of taxes paid on the basic necessities of life and NOT an entitlement. Reader write in; I like to go to buffet where they have really goods food. I have been going to Oceans on HWY 200 shrimp of all kinds, Fish, chicken of all kinds, Mushrooms fixed several ways, bourbon chicken & pork, beef. I can’t even name all of the food displayed. I took my wife to the doctor and we were close to Golden Coral and I remember the colorful foods in the ads that are running on TV about the steak, butterfly shrimp Baby Back Ribs and many great foods in the ad. We did not have much time so we went in. Have not been there for several years. Parking was plentiful. Got our table, got our plates and started looking for the shrimp and the steak, baby Backs ribs. NADDA! I ask the manager “where the shrimp?” He said oh that’s after 4pm. (I am sure when the price goes up.) There were four kinds of chicken to choose from, fried , roasted, Barbecue, Bourbon plus chicken gizzard, liver. The cheapest way to feed people is serve chicken as the meat. I told the manager I came for shrimp, and I was disappointed.

Grocery store: I have good news and bad news. The good news is the price of eggs went down and bad news is the Carton saying grade A large eggs are small eggs and one of the eggs that I pick out was dirty. The eggs are half the size of last years grad A large eggs! We the consumers are not stupid.

Senior reader: The County raises the values our house (That’s great right?). Your taxes go up and the insurance goes up $100 per month for two years. Now it’s $200 per month more than what they had in their budget. Not fair to the seniors who elected these officials! The mortgage company just raises the monthly payment on these poor seniors and does not even ask. Their grocery money is getting smaller, Marion county is suppose to be second most reasonable place to live in the state??? (It’s moving towards Poverty!) They are going to drive the seniors into small apartments and not live in the home they have paid for all their lives…Publishers note: I am looking for a new house insurance company. We are paying $3000 per year in three years.
