(NewsUSA) – The average military family moves three times as often as their civilian peers, and most of these permanent change of station (PCS) moves occur during the summer, according to Blue Star Families, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering, supporting, and connecting military families in communities around the world.

Many military families live in their local civilian communities. However, military families whose lives are often disrupted by deployments and frequent moves often struggle to feel part of these communities, according to Blue Star Families’ 2023 Military Family Lifestyle Survey. Blue Star Welcome Week is a new American tradition spearheaded by Blue Star Families to create a greater sense of belonging and community for everyone.

Kathy Roth-Douquet, CEO of Blue Star Families, says, “It’s time for a new tradition where we make military families feel valued and included. Welcome Week connects military families with their civilian neighbors. Whether it’s a simple message or a community event, every gesture builds a stronger, more inclusive community. This is how we honor their sacrifices and show our gratitude.”

Blue Star Welcome Week happens every year during the last week of September – this year’s event is scheduled for September 21-29, 2024. Continue reading

Information from the net!

Where is the Social Security fund we have been paying into all our lives?

Social Security is financed through a dedicated Payroll Tax.

Employers and employees each pay 6.2 percent of wages up to the taxable maximum of $160,200 (in 2023), while the self-employed pay 12.4 percent. The payroll tax rates are set by law, and for OASI and DI, apply to earnings up to a certain amount.

In listening to the financial news a comment was made about “ China is our largest debtor”. Not true the largest debtor is our own Social Security Fund! Politicians can’t stand the fact the Social Security Fund had money in it. So they have been using the money for things other than the aging. Actually they are budgeting in advance for other things not related to the elderly before they have it in hand.

Social insurance, as conceived by President Roosevelt, he would address the permanent problem of economic security for the elderly by creating a work-related, contributory system in which workers would provide for their own future economic security through taxes paid while employed. Thus it was an alternative both to reliance on welfare and to radical changes in our capitalist system. In the context of its time, it can be seen as a moderately conservative, yet activist, response to the challenges of the Depression. Continue reading

After receiving notice that Cheatle resigned Trump made his own statement. He said, “The Biden/Harris Administration did not properly protect me, and said “I was forced to take a bullet for Democracy.” He then added, in all caps, that it was his “great honor to do so.” In the process a first responder Fireman gave his life to protect his family. They have blood on their hands. Now the team is Harris/Walz. Some people say Harris is a chameleon, I think she is more like a female leopard they never change their spots and she is trying convince the voters that she has changed overnight. She has total changed her views and adopting Trumps political views to steel his votes. One of the news media’s said she is going for people who don’t follow politics or are low information voters. That is true their are people out there that don’t know who she is but they will go to a protest and support her.

Remember all the things that they are promising is coming out of YOU the tax payers money. If they make the changes Social Security, Welfare. Health Insurance (no private insurance) taking your guns away with the mandatory gun buy back program???, control the fuel/food/oil/guns/electricity and they will ask your neighbors to turn you in if they you brake their rules, then we are set back 500 years..
