Villages/Lady Lake

At Fakhoury Medical and Chiropractic Center, we would like to introduce you to our newest team member, Dr. Christopher Ruppel. We are so pleased to have him join our amazing group of Chiropractors. Here is a little of his incredible story that led him to follow his passion of serving:

“It is an honor and truly a privilege to begin serving the community here at Fakhoury Medical and Chiropractic Center in the Ocala and the Villages offices. Both communities are rich in prosperous, and hardworking Americans, who have made a vast array of accomplishments and sacrifices in their lifetime, creating the great state and nation we are afforded to live in today.

As I learn and grow to become a part of these beautiful communities, I hope to be able to share with you my passion to serve not only as a great Chiropractor here in Ocala and in The Villages, but also a referring physician to help guide you towards the care you need and most certainly deserve.

To begin developing my relationship with the beautiful people here, I find it would be fitting for me to share with you how and why I became to be so passionate about serving as a Chiropractic physician.  Continue reading

Past President Susan Soltysiak and Ambassador holding up our newspaper. Susan has been a great supporter of the Lady Lake Chamber and a friend to the newspaper. For the picture I could not help myself. Thanks, Susan for being a reader!

The Lady Lake Chamber had a ribbon cutting celebrating the Discount Beverage center.

Many attended from the Chamber; some 50 to 75 people circulated through the store. They had Poppy’s Food Truck serving Mexican Classics. The food was great and a wine tasting was greatly appreciated. They handed out swags; everyone was networking; there were photo opportunities. Visitors from all levels in the community attended and enjoyed the beverage center.  Chris and Alana say thank you for the Ribbon cutting and invited everyone to come experience her store and what it has to offer.

Detectives with the Lake County sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau, along with the City/County Investigative Bureau (comprised of the Eustis, Clermont, and Leesburg Police Departments), just concluded a two-day undercover sting operation targeting those who sell alcoholic beverages to underage consumers. Detectives used underage, undercover buyers as they visited various locations throughout the entire county this week.

A total of 106 businesses were visited during the operation, 20 of which sold to the underaged buyer. The types of businesses visited include convenience stores, liquor stores, supermarkets, and even some restaurants. Detectives charged all violators through criminal citations.

Attached are two separate lists, one that shows businesses that properly checked for identification and the other showing those that violated the law (click on the icons below). Continue reading

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office arranged for 20 employees to be trained for a new program introduced earlier this year by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The new initiative, called the Warrant Service Officer Program, was created by ICE to delegate immigration enforcement authority to local sheriff’s employees to allow those employees to execute ICE arrest warrants in local jails.

The training took place recently at the Lake County Jail, during which 18 correctional officers and 2 deputies assigned to the sheriff’s Warrants unit were certified to execute the warrants.

Once a certified officer executes a warrant in the jail on behalf of ICE, the Sheriff’s Office has 48 hours to transfer custody of the inmate. If ICE doesn’t take the illegal alien into custody within that 48 hours, the individual must be released.

This program serves to broaden ICE’s enforcement authority and allows for a smooth custodial transfer of criminal aliens to ICE custody.

“This new program gives us an additional tool that we can use to help ICE remove criminal illegal aliens from our jail, rather than putting them back in our communities to commit more crimes,” Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell said. “This partnership is win-win; it helps ICE do their job, and helps us do ours,” he added.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is also a Basic Ordering Agreement partner with ICE.

It is time to sign up for this year’s “Experience Lady Lake Expo”.

Trump visits the Villages campaign-style. Trump  is “under siege” and so is Medicare. The Democrats want their own version of National Health Care. Trump is trying to stop the Left from changing our private insurers programs. This is America we the people should have the liberty to choose our own insurance. Trump signed an executive order status quo for Medicare, preserving as is, especially private insurers Medicare Advantage plan. The by invitation only!

Trump says ”These people on the Left are crazy. They want to take private Healthcare  away and give you lousy health care. We are making your Medicare even better and we’re not letting anyone take away from you, as long as I am President”. Continue reading

November is military family appreciation month.  During the month, families with members of the military, past and present, are honored and recognized for their commitment and contributions in support of our military and nation.  November 11th is Veteran’s Day.  Thank a member of the military for serving this country. It is important to them to hear this appreciation but most of all, it’s respectful.

With the holiday season upon us, it is important to be thankful for the time we have spending with family and friends.  There are families that are separated because a member is off serving our country in the military or worse, they have sacrificed their life for our country.  In reality, freedom is not free.  It is important to reflect that these families have a difficult time coping with their situation.  We should be thankful for those who make those sacrifices and also for our families, friends, and the opportunities we have in this country.
