Governor announces that Florida secured 3,000 mAb doses directly from GlaxoSmithKline

TAMPA, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis called on the Biden Administration to restore Florida’s monoclonal antibody supply. At the event, Governor DeSantis also announced that due to the lack of support from the federal government, Florida secured 3,000 doses of the monoclonal antibody treatment on its own from GlaxoSmithKline.

“We should be doing everything we can to get patients monoclonal antibody treatments, not cutting allocations of treatment like the Biden Administration has done,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “Despite the cuts by the federal government, we want any Floridians that could benefit from this treatment to have access to it. Florida is going to leave no stone unturned when finding treatment for our state, and we are encouraged to have secured a shipment of monoclonal antibody treatments from GlaxoSmithKline.” Continue reading

For 15 years, Angie Kornas worked on technical racing suits for the Olympics to shaping and supportive swimwear for women. There was one thing that remained consistent in all swimsuit brands, no matter the quality, price point- all the removable bra inserts that came with swimsuits were terrible. They constantly moved around, bunched up and fell out. Not only was she personally frustrated, but women everywhere would light up talking about how awful the flimsy pieces of foam were.

Kornas searched the market for a better option worldwide and found nothing that would fix this real problem. She was blown away by the lack of design improvements over the last few decades. Bra inserts hadn’t been reengineered or reimagined in over 20 years! These pads are important for women because they provide nipple coverage, filler for volume loss, shaping and added support. They can even help women balance 2 different sized breasts, a very common issue, wearing an insert on the smaller side. Inserts are typically worn in regular bras, swimsuits, sports bras to dresses and tops. Continue reading

WHEN THE TOWERS FELL!

9-11 When the towers were destroyed and all the lives were lost it started into days, weeks, months and years of memories, sorrow and morning because this  was an unnecessary loss of life. Yes  the people that did this act were paid back, except trials that are still going on. 20 years later it ended in another disaster at our southern border. More loss of life, more morning and our country was weakened maybe beyond repair.

Maybe we need to recruit, train and send all these refugee’s back to the  countries they came from so they can clean up their country. Meanwhile the people coming into our country are free to invade us!

As I shared in last month’s column, I think our team at the CEP is second to none. They work incredibly hard to insure we are the catalyst for a prosperous community for everyone who calls the Ocala Metro home. A big part of having a great team is hiring incredible people.

Beth McCall Joins CEP Team

If there is such a thing as a homerun hire, Beth is the very definition. She joined the CEP team on 1 September as the new Director of Talent Development. In this role she will lead the CEP’s effort to engage businesses in our partnership with our education providers.

Beth is no stranger to Marion County Public Schools. She was elected in August 2016 as a member of the School Board. She served in that position until she moved out of District 2 and resigned the seat in June 2021. Continue reading

Dear Friends,

My update this month will be brief. Committee meetings for the 2022 Legislative Session have begun and we are excited to return to Tallahassee and fight to protect faith, family, freedom, opportunity and life itself.

On the frontlines in the fight for life, we are gaining allies and the state of Texas has brought the heartbeat bill back to the forefront. Senate President Simpson and House Speaker Sprowls have indicated that they will be willing to consider such a measure in this coming year. Your Senator sponsored this bill in 2018 (under different Senate leadership) and even though we had nearly half of the Senate signed on as co-sponsors, we were unable to get it across the finish line. We are very encouraged to see this gaining traction again this year and we remain hopeful that such a measure can be implemented in Florida. Continue reading

The U.S. National Debt is approaching  $30 Trillion Dollars, and increasing faster than ever before, with an additional $5 Trillion this past year, and the so-called Infrastructure Bill will cost another $2 trillion.

That adds up to about $86,000 for every person living in the USA.to pay it off.

Of course these numbers are from various ‘government agencies’, so the real numbers could be anything – But, I doubt they are any lower.

Is the National Debt. and the ever increasing Budget Deficits relevant to “we, the people?”

The ‘American Rescue Plan’ from March 2021 is not funded. and the deficit is now the highest in the history of the USA.

Of course, the Democrats blame the Republicans and the ‘Trumpites’ blame the Bidenettes’. Continue reading
