OCALA, Fla. (April 22, 2019) – The City of Ocala’s local high-speed fiber internet provider, Ocala Fiber Network (OFN), will be sending representatives to the Happiness Homes neighborhood Tuesday, April 23, and possibly Thursday, April 25, to determine the level of interest in their service.

Residents should expect these consultants beginning at 1 p.m. wearing safety vests and OFN hats. They will share information about faster, more reliable internet available from OFN and sign up interested residents. Residents’ interest must reach a specified threshold before OFN moves forward with “fiber-to-the-home” connections.

Earlier this year, Ocala City Council declared a moratorium on providing residential fiber service and directed OFN to achieve a specified rate of interest in targeted neighborhoods before moving forward with connecting residents to their network. Those neighborhoods include Bellechase, Happiness Homes, Ocala Highlands and Windstream. OFN’s consultants will reach out to the other identified neighborhoods in the coming weeks to sign up residents who wish to connect to OFN’s fiber internet service.

To register your interest in obtaining service, or for more information, visit www.CityofOcalaFiber.com or call 352-401-6900.
