SOUTH CAROLINA MAN ARRESTED FOR CREATING PORNOGRAPHY WITH MARION COUNTY TEENAGER
MARION COUNTY, Florida (October 31, 2017)- Detectives with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office
(MCSO) Major Crimes Unit arrested South Carolina resident John David Madura (DOB: 06/28/1979) after he had sexual intercourse on multiple occasions with a 15-year old female Marion County teenager. Madura was arrested in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for Possession of Child Pornography and during that investigation, Minneapolis detectives discovered videos on Madura’s phone of him having sex with the teenager and of her posed in lewd positions. An analysis of the videos revealed that they were taken at a residence in Marion County, initiating MCSO’s investigation.
At the time of Madura’s Minneapolis arrest in June 2017, the juvenile victim was located with Madura and told law enforcement that she was his employee. The pornographic videos produced in Marion County were located as a result of a search warrant conducted on Madura’s phone by Minneapolis Police. MCSO detectives produced a warrant for Madura’s arrest and featured him on Sheriff Billy Woods’ Facebook video segment, “Wanted by Woods Wednesday” on September 20, 2017. Detectives then received a tip that Madura was in Pennsylvania and on September 29th, Madura was located and apprehended. Madura waived extradition and was booked into the Marion County Jail upon his arrival on Monday, October 30, 2017.
Madura is currently facing one count of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior- Victim 12 Years or Older, Younger than 16 Years of Age and six counts of Cruelty Towards a Child- Promote Sexual Performance of Child. He is currently being held on $95,000 bond.
