Seagrass Waterfront Restaurant

10386 W Hall River Road

Homosassa, FL 34448

Beautiful setting on the river with three seating areas, climate controlled indoor, outdoor deck covered screened room and open air deck of the river. Practicing Covid-19 standards, temperature taken from all patrons, observing social distancing, with table and seating disinfecting after customer departure.

Upon arriving our party of eleven, was seated during two for one drink specials of beer, wine and cocktails, a great start to our dinner adventure!

Wide assortment of appetizers from calamari, loaded potato skins, wings, fried green beans, flat breads, crab bites and beef empanadas. Apps are perfect snack or to share while watching the boats on the river or docking to eat.

Light entrees or lunch favorites consists of hamburgers, chicken or fish burgers, Shrimp PoBoy, BBQ Pork, ham and cheese sandwiches. Must try their home made potato chips!

A well devised menu for everyone’s discriminating taste. I recommend having a dinner salad, generous for two to share (I didn’t). It consists of fresh lettuce mixed with romaine, sliced cucumbers, the freshest diced tomatoes and choice of dressings.

Dinner entrees have a wide range of beef, poultry, pork and seafoods. My guests challenged their talent to prepare the various special plates on the menu. Our table enjoyed the Waterfront Burger, Seagrass Salad with Grilled Chicken, Parmesan Crusted Shrimp, Fish & Chips, Coconut Fried Shrimp, Key West Shrimp, Parmesan Crusted Scallops, Bread Bowl Clam Chowder, Grilled Ribeye Steak and I had Tender Juicy Pork Loin with Mashed Potatoes and the best bacon sautéed Fresh Green Beans.

We tested the chef and his kitchen staff with our order. The incredible task was to serve us at the same time with hot perfectly prepared grilled hamburger, perfect medium rare steak, lightly grilled scallops, hot sautéed crusted shrimp, juice leaking pork loins, crispy fried fish, fries and shrimp. Must mention have Pork Fried Rice and Latino Dishes no one order. This is a destination for a afternoon or evening, that is only $$-$$$ with Social Media selfie backdrop to remember!

Ramen House and Boba Tea

2708 SW College Road, Suite 3

27th Ave. and College Road

Ocala, FL 34474

Ramen House is clean, new, small restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating.

When entering you place your order and they serve to your table. This is efficient because of the many Boba orders.

Boba Tea, also called Bubble Tea, is an Asian cold creamy drink with boba (tapioca balls) on the bottom, sucked through a specially designed straw to blend flavors. Boba Tea Houses grew rapidly in Los Angeles, in the 90’s and still thrive today. Boba is also available in selected Starbucks, but not authentic.

Noodle Houses have trended across the US, the last 15 years. In Japan, there are noodle stands, similar to the Hotdog street vendors in New York City, the difference is seating at the noodle stands.

My wife and I both had, Miso Ramen, included bean sprouts, onion, fish cake, egg, bamboo shoots, sliced pork and noodles. They also have chicken, beef, seafood and vegetable, in miso or soy sauce base. If you’ve had packaged ramen, where you boil water, add the noodles and powered mix, that isn’t real RAMEN!

We shared appetizers, gyoza, spring rolls and fried shumai. I had Calpico (bottled Japanese drink) and my wife had a Boba Tea.

The menu is small but everything was made to perfection! The entire meal, Boba, was tasty and service was excellent!

Have Tina help with menu choices. Remember this is authentic Ramen and blends flavors, textures of vegetables, meats with noodles in a broth. Whether you try their Boba, have an authentic Ramen or appetizers, you will return!

CRACKER BARREL

I took my wife to lunch to Cracker Barrel they never disappoints me. My wife wanted just a hamburger, until she read the menu and she saw the cooked apples. So she ordered the Hamburger plate. The hamburger was prepared perfect, she enjoyed it. I order the fried shrimp, they served it over a bed of Steak Fries with cooked apples, cole slaw and biscuits. Everything was delicious and plentiful. After eating of course my wife needed to look around the store at some of their select items. I have done some Christmas shopping for small unique  items there. I recommend the Cracker Barrel on 484 near I-75.

CRACKER BARREL Tampa Florida  two weeks later same great meal.

Brisas del Mar (Mexican Restaurant)

I had the pleasure of having lunch at the Brisas del Mar Mexican Restaurant. The menu was full of great looking meals. I just wanted a simple hamburger no bun, with lettuce and tomato. First I like hot coffee, it was hot. They served chips and salsa, that just teased my appetite and got me ready for lunch. The hamburger was served with lettuce and tomato on top of the Hamburger and plenty of fries. Half way through my lunch another big cup of hot coffee and more salsa for my chips.

The servers were friendly, I left my business card and a copy of our Village Spectator and I invited them to read our newspaper. I was satisfied with my meal and the bill was only $11.

I would recommend you go try them, they are on 441 on the south end of Lady Lake.
