Recently, I’ve noticed so many people stating their version of the origin, the meaning, the intent and the effect of the Con-stitution of the United States of America.

For example, one starts, “Let me clarify what the ‘experiment’ (of the U.S Constitution) is”. He the stated, “When this na-tion was founded, foreign nations were ruled by kings, tsars, autocrats. Even England still had a monarchy, in its queen”.

(Question – At that time, wasn’t there a ‘King’ of England?)

The writer continued, “Our country was founded as a democracy where our leaders were elected by the people.”

(Question-Is the USA a ‘democracy’ or a Representative, Democratic Republic?)

Then, he claims, “Our laws were enacted by elected representatives of the people, to benefit the people fairly and justly.”

(Q-Are these assertions based on a study these ‘elected representatives?’

And then, “We have a system of checks and balances that ensure that our system would be administered so that no one branch of government would have ultimate power over the others.

(Q-Is this true? Is there, in fact, a system of ‘checks and balances’ or, has the ‘system’ enabled a ‘minority of five’ to ex-tend it’s authority?

Local governments are routinely over-ruled by the State, and in turn, those States are subjected to the whims and devices of Federal Authorities?

And, even the President and laws passed by our duly elected representatives in Washington DC, Democrats and Republi-cans alike, are regularly invalidated by a so-called, Supreme Court. And their decisions determined by the ‘unjust five’, who are partisan, life-time lawyers who have never lived in the real world?

Q-Is it true that “The Constitution, is our Constitution as written, and should be followed! It’s the law!” If that was/is true, then we wouldn’t need lawyers to ‘interpret’ it for us would we?

-Is the question of protecting the borders of the United States of America against an uncontrolled invasion, or the right of a woman to have an abortion, clearly spelled out in the Constitution?

-Under the Constitution, is the written that a President and a Federal government can militarily invade and subjugate a free state, for the sole reason of ‘preserving the union’?

Here’s a quote by Lincoln’s hand:-

“I would save the Union.

I would save it the shortest way under the Constitution.

If there be those who would not save the Union, unless they could at the same time save slavery, I do not agree with them.

If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could at the same time destroy slavery, I do not agree with them.

My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery.

If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by

freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that.

What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I for-bear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union.”

Q-Fact or Fiction? I don’t know. I wasn’t there. . . .

‘til next time.
