The COVID Fiasco!
Will COVID 19 end the world as we know it?
As I See It, probably not.
But, then we don’t know much about it.
What is an Endemic?
When was COVID an Epidemic?
When did it change to a Pandemic,
Apparently. an ENDEMIC is a disease that’s always with us, like the flu. But it’s mostly limited to a particular region which makes the disease more predictable. For example, Malaria is considered to be an ENDEMIC in certain countries. COVID was an epidemic when it first appeared in China.
Very quickly COVID became an EPIDEMIC like yellow fever, smallpox, measles, and polio. Interestingly, West Niie Fever is a epidemic even though it’s not contagious. So an EPIDEMIC is when a health condition invades a specific area, or locality.
Then there’s a PANDEMIC, which is where we are now. Infections skyrocket, each day cases grow more than the day prior, and it spreads, out of control, over a wide area, country to country as COVID has in the past couple of years.
Regardless of your politics, is there anyone who thinks that the world-wide governing elite has done a good job?
The world over, they all blame one another, while doing nothing to protect us.
The Delta variant, has been controlled, to some extent by vaccines, but it’s the OMICRON Variant, which is much less deadly, which has taken over.
Some scientists say that the next pandemic will be here much sooner than we think, and probably, much more severe. Certainly in the next 25 years.
Some sources report that, world-wide about 6 Million people have already died from COVID
But that only includes data from the countries which have the resources to do the tests.
For example HAITI has zero cases of COVID and zero deaths!
For whatever reason, in the USA, many community leaders, political and religious, local and national, have persuaded their followers not to get vaccinated at all.
Which is difficult to understand, is that those same leaders have all taken the vaccine, including the so-called ‘booster shot’.
Scientists say that viruses are evolving constantly. In the vast majority of cases, those variants are not dangerous to humans.
But, as COVID has shown us, it only takes one.
Are we prepared?
I think we all know the answer.
We can’t prevent the common cold, or the flu or dozens of other harmful conditions.
What treatments have been ‘government approved’ for COVID?
Remdesivir is the first drug approved by the FDA for adults and pediatric patients at least 12 years of age in the hospital.
Remdesivir, also known as Veklury®, is in a class of treatments called antivirals. It works by stopping SARS-CoV-2 from spreading in the body.
Actemra (tocilizumab): Is a mAb authorized for emergency use for the treatment of some patients in the hospital with COVID-19.
Actemra is a medication for multiple inflammatory diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, and has shown in studies that it may be effective in treating COVID-19.
Other drugs and treatments, such as mAbs are used to slow or reduce the virus’ growth and spread in the body, as well as to enhance breathing and help with other symptoms.
How can any of us stay safe?
You could move to HAITI – no cases reported there!
